James Blackmore (b.2002, Seattle) is an Atlanta-based artist working primarily in painting. He received his BFA with honors from Georgia State University, in 2025. He is currently a MFA candidate at Boston University's College of Fine Arts.   

 

Throughout his paintings he gains knowledge about interior and exterior anthropogenic niches, and how plants interact with them, treating painting as a place where skill acquisition and the careful consideration of  domesticated environments get worked out on canvas.
